About This Site
Kotiti Haere is a site for Maori Wanderers who will be exploring the world for a few years, starting 3rd Dec 2006. Different Whanau members will join us at different places around the world for a few weeks or months.
All of the links here are the great sites that have been found during the research stage as this will save us time surfing the net when we are in other countries - we will have the links here as a place to start!
The Culture / Cultural links are for the culture of that country and not the culture of the colonisers. For example, in New Zealand (where we are from) the cultural links are for Maori only.
The main focus of this site is cheap travel and accommodation as well as exploring other cultures of the world through homestays or volunteering to work with the people of the country.
If you are looking for package tours, this is not really the place as we are interested in doing it ourselves, not being taken around in groups and herded here and there at the time schedule of a tour. We want to be able to do things when we want to, stop when we want to, and stay as long as we want to.
At the moment, not all continents and countries have entries, but more will be added as they are found.
